Mug Shots--Break Us Out of Here!

OK, here we are. Can you believe they took mug shots of us?

Now here's the real kicker. We're staging a crib break. We're practicing crawling onto our bumper pads and leaning over the rail. Grandma told Mommy that they better fix that, but we're not sure what they will do. We need to explain that we're just ready to explore our world--all of the time.
It's a special day here.
We want to wish all of you a very Happy New Year! 2009, here we come. We have a list of resolutions:

We want to eat just people food.

We want to walk instead of crawl.

We want to stay up longer--got that Mommy--no more naps!

We want to wear shoes so we can play in the grass.

We want to talk to everyone like we talk to each other.

But most of all, we want lots of hugs and kisses for being so cute.

OK, can we get out of here now?

Merry Christmas

We've had this tree in our livingroom with lights for a few weeks now, but let me tell you it got magical the last couple of days. Last night these pretty boxes started showing up underneath. I think Mommy called them presents. Anyway, we were pretty good and left them alone, but our big sister just wanted to tear off all of the pretty stuff to see what was inside.

A lot of people were there including our Great Grandma. She came from the cold country to spend Christmas with us. Aunt Breana and Uncle Matthew were there and so were Grandma and Grandpa and the cousins. Uncle Matthew and Aunt Breana got us a really neat train. You can see that we both loved playing with it and the wooden blocks are great for chewing, which we both do a lot right now. You can see how much we chew, even with sissy's music toys and our walker toy.

Today we got in the car at naptime and drove to Grandpa and Grandma's house. We got to eat LOTS of turkey and Grandma even turned on the air conditioner because it was pretty warm with everyone there. We ate peas and mashed potatoes and turkey. We also ate carrots and celery. And turkey.

After dinner, we had to babysit Mommy and Daddy. They must have eaten too much of the turkey because they both rested like they were napping. We just played and played on the floor and we crawled and stood and played with wrapping paper (until we tried to eat it) and got lots of attention from everyone.

We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We see you when you're sleeping

O

Kat, what do you want for Christmas?

I don't know Beth, perhaps some classical music. I especially like works from the Baroque period.

Or Wheezer, do you think Santa would bring me some Wheezer?

Sigh.

First Meeting with the Bearded Man

Well, what a busy day. We woke up from our nap and the house had a tree in it. Then, we went to a new Ethopian place, where we got to sit in big kid chairs and everyone ate with their hands--usually, we're the only ones. We loved the split peas and the injera (Ethopian bread). Yummy! Next, Grandma came over and we all went to see this man with a white beard. It was our first meeting with him, but we took to him as if he was an old friend. He said if we're nice he'll bring presents. What a deal! We're always nice . . . well most of the time . . . well at least some of the time. Ed Note: Kathryn is wearing blue shoes and Elizabeth's are purple.
