Mug Shots--Break Us Out of Here!

OK, here we are. Can you believe they took mug shots of us?

Now here's the real kicker. We're staging a crib break. We're practicing crawling onto our bumper pads and leaning over the rail. Grandma told Mommy that they better fix that, but we're not sure what they will do. We need to explain that we're just ready to explore our world--all of the time.
It's a special day here.
We want to wish all of you a very Happy New Year! 2009, here we come. We have a list of resolutions:

We want to eat just people food.

We want to walk instead of crawl.

We want to stay up longer--got that Mommy--no more naps!

We want to wear shoes so we can play in the grass.

We want to talk to everyone like we talk to each other.

But most of all, we want lots of hugs and kisses for being so cute.

OK, can we get out of here now?

Merry Christmas

We've had this tree in our livingroom with lights for a few weeks now, but let me tell you it got magical the last couple of days. Last night these pretty boxes started showing up underneath. I think Mommy called them presents. Anyway, we were pretty good and left them alone, but our big sister just wanted to tear off all of the pretty stuff to see what was inside.

A lot of people were there including our Great Grandma. She came from the cold country to spend Christmas with us. Aunt Breana and Uncle Matthew were there and so were Grandma and Grandpa and the cousins. Uncle Matthew and Aunt Breana got us a really neat train. You can see that we both loved playing with it and the wooden blocks are great for chewing, which we both do a lot right now. You can see how much we chew, even with sissy's music toys and our walker toy.

Today we got in the car at naptime and drove to Grandpa and Grandma's house. We got to eat LOTS of turkey and Grandma even turned on the air conditioner because it was pretty warm with everyone there. We ate peas and mashed potatoes and turkey. We also ate carrots and celery. And turkey.

After dinner, we had to babysit Mommy and Daddy. They must have eaten too much of the turkey because they both rested like they were napping. We just played and played on the floor and we crawled and stood and played with wrapping paper (until we tried to eat it) and got lots of attention from everyone.

We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We see you when you're sleeping

O

Kat, what do you want for Christmas?

I don't know Beth, perhaps some classical music. I especially like works from the Baroque period.

Or Wheezer, do you think Santa would bring me some Wheezer?

Sigh.

First Meeting with the Bearded Man

Well, what a busy day. We woke up from our nap and the house had a tree in it. Then, we went to a new Ethopian place, where we got to sit in big kid chairs and everyone ate with their hands--usually, we're the only ones. We loved the split peas and the injera (Ethopian bread). Yummy! Next, Grandma came over and we all went to see this man with a white beard. It was our first meeting with him, but we took to him as if he was an old friend. He said if we're nice he'll bring presents. What a deal! We're always nice . . . well most of the time . . . well at least some of the time. Ed Note: Kathryn is wearing blue shoes and Elizabeth's are purple.

Our Very First Halloween

We had a costume party at our house on Friday night. At least we thought it was a costume party, but some people called it Halloween. Anyway, everyone got all dressed up. Sissy wore a witch costume and the cousins were a ballerina and a witch. And what did they dress us up as?

Daddy wanted to coordinate his costume with ours. He has this thing he called a UT Tower. Looks like cardboard to me. He decided Beth and I should be a cowgirl and Bevo. For those of you non sports fans, Bevo is the UT mascot. He's a bull, and that means he's a boy. Do I look like a boy to you? I think not. I revolted. Daddy didn't end up being a tower anyway; he dressed up like a Daddy.

It was such a nice night out we decided to go for a walk. The big girls went with us and were really friendly. They tried to visit all of our neighbors. They would knock on the door or ring the doorbell, but instead of saying hello like we've been taught to do, they kept saying something like Trick or Treat. Now what do you suppose that means? The neighbors must have liked it, though, because they kept bringing out bowls of different goodies and giving them away. Weird. The dressing up was fun, though, so maybe we'll try it again someday.

Happy Birthday to Us!

You turn one and all you get is a brownie? Mommy says we'll get a party in a couple weeks, though. Hmm.

Feed Us More

Mommy got a work phone call in the middle of our dinner. How rude, don't they know it's 4:30. Anyhow, rather than let us cry the big blonde one fed us our dinner. Thanks sis!

Library Time

Beth, here. Mommy finally took us to the library for Mother Goose lapsit. It was wonderful seeing all the other babies, singing songs, and eating (K-- she means reading) the books. And we even saw another pair of twins! I'm not sure why I had to wear the hat though.

Can I chew on your thumb?

Kat here. Last week, Mommy had a meeting at big sister's school, so sister E and I went over to Mommy's friends' house. Here's a picture of me, one of sis, and one of both of us. As always, Mommy coordinated us. I had the pink outfit, bottle, and bib while sister wore the purple ensemble. Can you believe people sometimes get us mixed up? Silly things. Here's a link to some some video too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDVkWV_8wrA And more of Me! I'm finally faster than sister. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZekIy-pGF0Q

All Dolled Up for Dinner

Well the Mole and Grandma S must have had the same thoughts--there haven't been enough pictures of us for our admiring audience lately. Earlier this month the Texas family got together to celebrate lots of birthdays and we actually got to go to a place called Joe's Crab Shack. Everybody was getting to eat exotic food like crab and shrimp and crawdads and what did they feed us? You guessed it, a bottle. Just wait, some day we're going to get to eat messily with our fingers too!

Siting Pics

Beth here. What you can't see in the picture is that Mommy is helping Kat sit. She just hasn't quite got it yet though she is real close. I'm not crawling though and she's been getting around for almost a month. I roll where I want to go, so why bother crawling it seems like a waste of time to me.

Kat takes a crawl

Oh look at me I'm crawling. I'm crawling! Pretty fun I think! It's not so hard . . . well, yes it is.

Wonder Twin Powers Activate

Did you miss us we're back!!!!!

That's right dear reader Beth and I had a thrilling and enlighting trip to NJ where we learned ever so much of culture and society. While I do enjoy the simple life of a country girl, it sure was nice to see the bright lights and hustle/bustle that is the Garden state. Truly a fine....

Hey Kat can I share my experiences?

Oh, I'm going to regret this. Please Beth...

My favorite part was the food!!! FEEEED ME!!!!!

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Oh man that was fun -- I never traveled by phone before.
Actually dear Elizabeth we did not travel but merely a representation of our selves
Huh?!?!? You mean like Star Trek?
No I mean a photograph of ourselves was taken in one local than transmitted electronically to another locale.
Yeah just like Star Trek.
No no .... fine yes Just like Star Trek.
Well thanks Cousin Evan for beaming us up!

Lots of Company Means We Get Held

Wowee! We really had a houseful of people today including two grandmas and a grandpa and lots of other relatives. There was cake and singing and presents for sissy. I think they said something about a birthday, but she can't have a birthday because that's when you're born--right? She's way too big to be just born.

The really cool thing for us today was being held. We got held by pretty much everyone at the house and that was a lot of arms to get passed around. It's kind of nice to be able to talk to one another face to face without lying down.

Then there was the Grandpa. He's pretty good for helping us when we need to burp or just letting us see the world from up high. He even let us chew and chew and chew.

Then there's Uncle Matthew. He got to practice today. Notice that I didn't even cry. Way to go Uncle!
We actually got held more, too. The other Grandma and Aunt Bree and the cousins Ashlee and Brittney held us and of course Daddy. It was a great day to be a baby!

The problem with Teething

Kathryn here. Let me tell you teething is HARD. Thats hard with a capital H and A and R and even D. It's killing me I tell you these sharp teeth cutting through the gums. Oi, and the worst part is all I have to soothe them with are my fingers. I assure you you its NOT like soaking in Palmolive. But I have an idea......

Hey Beth come on over here.

Ohh yeah Kat?

Let me see that hand of yours.

Sure what do yo..... WAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Mmm a much better way to teeth!

Look At Us Now!

Look at how big we're getting! We're ready to rock and roll all over the carpet. The blond one let us lie down on her quilt. (Hey, Grandma, how come she has one and we don't?) Of course, she had to supervise us so we didn't drool or something like that.
We can really get a baby's eye view of our world now. Our necks are getting stronger and look at our arms. We're five months old today and ready to conquer the world.

And then there were 3!

Howdy there! For Easter, Beth and I decided to wear matching outfits. What do you think? Original, no? Who would have thought of dressing identical twins identically? Pretty cute, huh? I mean check out our little fingers 5, 10,15,20, 25 30 cute little... what a sec... 30??? 5-10-15-20-25-30 30?!?!?!? That's right WAIT! What's this? An imposter! Is that blonde hair girl playing tricks again??? I've had enough cut the the tape -- CUT IT!

Who has time to post?

Hi y'all. The terrible two here. We know we haven't posted in a while , but we've been busy.
yeah real busy
Thats right Beth we've been busy. Busy with what you may ask?
Uh I don't ask.
I wasn't asking you Beth
Oh.... sorry :)
As I was saying -- busy have we've been. Yes, busy keeping Mommy awake. You see Mommy doesn't like to sleep much
Really??!?!?
Yes, really. She doesn't care for it much at all.
It's just... the other day I heard her ...
Excuse me who's writing this blog???
Well considering we don't speak English....
Stifle it! As I was saying Mommy doesn't enjoy sleeping so Beth and I take turns all night long screaming to keep her up
I like the 3:30 am shift myself
Indeed... So dear readers, so you can see with all this screaming to do -- who has time to blog???
yeah but the big blonde kid hasn't blogged in a while ...

Hush!
